A RESEARCH ON HOUSING SYSTEMS USED IN DAIRY ENTERPRISES IN AYDIN

This study was carried out to determine some characteristics of the housing systems used in dairy enterprises in Aydın Province. The material of the study was 99 dairy cattle enterprises İn Aydın and county. Due to the results of the study on general characteristics of the housing systems, it was determined that the use of closed and corral bam were 48.7% and 51.3%, use of sheet iron, asbestos cement and tile for roof material were 56.5%. 25.3% and 13.1%, preference of concrete floor type and south entrance were 71.7% and 67.7% respectively. Width and depth of feeding faces, height of the front wall of the manger, width and lenght of cubicles were determined as follows: 41 - 140 cm. 10 - 45 cm, 30 - 82 cm, 80 - 128 cm, 190 -160 cm respectively. About the other characteristics of the bams, it was investigated that the use of automatic water dispenser, calving pen, individual calve hutch, cubicle slope were 7.1%, 54.5%, 93.9% and 36.6% respectively. About housing systems investigated in this study, it was revealed that they were insufficient and have lots of mistakes. It was concluded that farmers should be informed about housing systems of dairy catties.
