Distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) is a feed material, which is obtained from fermentation of corn and different cereals as a by-product in the process of ethanol production. During fermantation, approximately equal portions of ethanol, DDGS and CO2 are obtained. The increase in ethanol production, becoming widespread and using new generation ethanol plants, increases the amount and the quality of the produced DDGS. The DDGS from new generation plants can be evaluated an alternative ingredient for poultry as well as other animal rations. Quality, nutrient composition and nutrient digestibility of products should be considered when DDGS are used in poultry rations. The supplemention levels of DDGS have been seen to be limited in experiments conducted in poultry. The aim of this review prepared by considering the latest articles published is to inform poultry sector and feed mill industry about the subjects of DDGS production, its feed value and factors that effect its feed value.
