In the past, antibiotics used as feed additives, commonly in ruminant nutrition to improve rumen fermentation, performance and feed intake. Because of the negative effects of these chemical feed additives on human and animal health, the interest for natural plant feed additives have been increased. In this study use of oregano essential oils and their effects in ruminant nutrition were tried to be evaluated in Turkey and some other countries.
