In this study, it was aimed to investigate the effects of the measurable environmental factors affecting on the milk yield and lactation length of Chios x Kıvırcık (F1). Kıvırcık and Turkish Merino ewes and on the growth of the three-way crossbred (German Black-Headed Mutton x P. (Chios x Kıvırcık)). Kıvırcık and Turkish Merino Iambs.
With regard to the factors affecting the milk yield and lactation length of ewes, genotype, bind type and ewe's age were investigated and the effects of the factors other than birth type were found to be significant. The Chios x Kıvırcık (F1) and Turkish Merino ewes gave 8.9 kg and 5.5 kg higher, respectively and Kıvırcık ewes gave 14.4 kg lower milk yield than the expected mean (93.5 kg). The milk yield of ewes giving birth to twins was 1.6 kg higher than the expected mean. In terms of the lactation length of ewes, F, and Turkish Merino ewes were 4.7 and 1,3 days higher, respectively and Kıvırcık ewes were 6.0 days lower than the expected mean (140 days). At the age of 2 and 3 the ewes had lower milk yield and lactation lengths than the expected mean. The milk yield and lactation lengths were highest at the age of 4 and 5 and got lower ai the older ages. Un the growth of lambs, the effects of genotype, sex, birth type and ewe's age were significant and the effect of birth year was not found significant Being born Kıvırcık, female and triplet were negative under the expected means while being born Turkish Merino, three-way crossbred lamb, male, single and twin (due to the presence of triplets) was positive. The lambs which had dams at the age of 4 and 5 had positive growth results above the expected means at all ages.
In this study, by the investigation of the factors affecting on the inspected milk production characteristics, it was determined that F1 ewes carrying Chios genotype gave positive results higher than Turkish Merino and Kıvırcık ewes. In terms of the growth characteristics, the three-way crossbred lambs showed higher results ıhan the expected means at all ages.
