The expertise of veterinary public health is a necessary component of the public health activities in response to against emerging and re-emerging diseases. Controlling and preventing of emerging infections is required a multidisciplinary perception. The aim of this review is to position veterinary activities should be done in response to the factors negatively impact to the human health in public health and to present information about the location of veterinary activities used for protecting human health, multidisciplinary approaches, applications of veterinary public health to contend with zoonotic agents and the economic influences of zoonotic agents. Leadership of veterinary public health is especially needed to develop and implement guidelines for the diagnosis and prevention of zoonotic diseases. In our country, demand of experts has already been discussed in this area, most of the outside sources and literatures has shown clearly how the veterinary public health activities have been performed and what the most important developments and challenges are on this issue.
