ACINETOBACTERBAUMANNII AND STREPTOCOCCUS CANIS DETECTED IN A DOG'S URINARY TRACT INFECTION

Nosocomial infections represent a major problem in human hospitals but have not attracted much attention until recently in veterinary medicine. A 1-year-old Kangal presented with blood in urea referred to Istanbul University Veterinary Faculty Internal Medicine Department. Urinary tract infection caused by Acinetobacter baumannii and Streptococcus canis was diagnosed according to both clinical and bacteriological examinations. This case report was prepared to remind Acinetocbacter spp. which is seen in veterinary medicine recently in urinary tract infections.
