In this study, effects of sequential use of zeolite added bedding during two rearing periods for 6 weeks each on broiler performance and firm profitability were investigated.
Zeolite addition to bedding and re-use of the bedding did not cause a statistically significant difference in groups from hatching to the end of the second week for live weight gain. However, there was a statistically significant difference (P<0.001) in favor of the treatment group from 3rd to 5th week, during which more rapid weight gain occurred. In the last week, live weight gain was similar for the both groups.
At the end of two rearing periods, the bedding expense per bird for the treatment group chickens was 37% lower than the control, and the net income per bird for the treatment group chickens was 2% higher than the control.

As a result, sequential use of zeolite added bedding during the two rearing periods did not have any negative effects on the broiler production performance. Moreover, İt could be considered that this program could provide more benefit than the use of wood shavings for bedding.
